Hi! 👋

I’m a social entrepreneur, educator and speaker based in Japan.

As Representative Director of Social Innovation Japan, one of NIKKEI’s ‘100 Companies Building the Future’, I spend my time accelerating social change.

I’m also the Co-founder of mymizu, an award-winning movement to tackle plastic waste through the power of technology and community.

You’ll find me at the nexus of social innovation, entrepreneurship, community building and communications, working with fun people to build a better world.

Reducing plastic waste through the power of technology and community. Our crowdsourced movement has saved millions of plastic bottles from going to waste and built a plastic-free hydration network across Japan & the world 🌊

Social Innovation Japan

Accelerating action for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education programs, leadership training and community building. We’re on a mission to unleash the power of people for a better tomorrow 💪

Michinoku Coastal Trail

Walking the 1,000+ km Michinoku Trail in Japan’s disaster-affected Tohoku region. Providing a free guide, online community, and book (coming soon!) to help outdoors enthusiasts make the journey and contribute to the area’s long-term recovery 🥾

Speaker

Every year, I do 70+ keynote speeches, guest lectures and corporate speaking engagements related to social business, sustainability, SDGs, and all things social impact.

Educator

I’ve had the privilege of travelling around the world and building unconventional learning and development programs with collaborators from global brands and UN bodies, to city governments and universities.

Consultant

I’ve been a consultant at some of the world’s leading institutions like the World Bank, a professional facilitator, and have supported major companies to create change within and outside their organisations.

Storyteller

I create content about things that I’m passionate about, like walking 600kms along a tsunami-affected coastline, working in countries affected by humanitarian crises, and the latest trends in social business.
